Soccer Camp

Isabelle played soccer for the first time this spring. She was a great player. I think her coach called her a defensive dog with rabies. Trust me if anyone did get around her she would hunt them down and make them sorry! She was a lot of fun to watch! She also attended a soccer camp this summer and learned a lot of new skills. We are proud.

Isabelle is a Christian

I am writing this for Isabelle because she is asleep right now. I may have her come back and give her testimony at a later date. She asked Jesus into her heart at the beginning of the summer. Tim and I weren't sure if she was ready/serious about her decision because she refused to go forward and be baptized. Isabelle is extremely reserved and to walk in front of the church really intimidated her. We talked to her about obedience and letting others know about her decision but she did not waiver. Every invitation at church I prayed and prayed that God would give her strength. Well about six weeks ago she took off down the aisle! I had told her I would go with her but she had to make the first move. She grabbed my hand and off we went. She walked right up to the deacon waiting and said " I need to be baptized". Isn't God faithful! He has promised that if we follow him he will lead. This has been a good lesson for Tim and I as parents. Sometimes we think it would be easier if we could just decide a few things for our kids. That is where we mess up. They are God's and he has already made the decisions for them. I guess we are just along for the ride. Let me tell you this was a good ride. She was the first to be baptized in our new remodeled auditorium. I was never prouder of her!

Sweet Isabelle

I can not say enough good things about Isabelle. I took a couple of pictures of her when she was sick because she could not play in the pool with everyone else. She is such a sweet girl. Isabelle always does any job assigned to her 150%. Many times I will ask the kids to straighten the kitchen or bathroom and Isabelle will clean whatever I have asked top to bottom! When she was younger she used to say she wanted to be a cowgirl when she grew up, now she has changed to a veterinarian or a cleaning lady. Tim and I always smile because the jobs she strives for aren't always what a parent would choose for their child, but they are always from the heart. I guess as long as she works hard and is happy it doesn't really matter. We sure were blessed when God gave her to us!

Field Trip

I have the best teacher in the world. Her name is Mrs. Davis. She is so nice. The last week of school she took us on a field trip to the park. We have been studying a book called "Growing up where Jesus Lived" in school. Mrs. Davis had all the children on our class bring a food item that my have been eaten by Jesus and his family. I had to bring raw green beans. Other children brought things such as, olives, dates, pistachios, lettuce, grapes, etc. We all tried the different foods. Some were good others were not! We also had a good time playing at the park. I will miss my class when summer gets here! There are a lot of pictures of my field trip in my photo album.

Spelling Bee

We had a spelling bee at school and I came in first place! The first and second graders at our school do not get to be in the bee in the fall. You have to be in third grade or up. Some of those kids go on to compete in a regional bee or even to state. The first and second graders have a bee in the spring to practice for when we are old enough. Six kids were chosen in my class to compete. I was really nervous. I did pretty good I guess. My friend Trillion and I were the only ones left and she misspelled the word "Bluff". I spelled it correctly, and then I had to spell one more word to win. I can't remember what the word was but I spelled it right so I won!

Eighth Birthday

Monday was my birthday. I turned eight. It was a good day. I had to go to school. I took treats to my class to celebrate my birthday. After talking to my mom about what to bring we decided on Rice Crispy Treats. There are several kids in my class allergic to different things and rice crispy treats is something everyone can eat. When I came home from school I did not have to do any chores because it was my birthday! Yea! For dinner we had Stroganoff, and salad ( my choice)! Mom made me a yummy lemon cake. I got lots of great presents- flip flops , cowgirl hat, new horses, and lots of money to buy whatever I want. I am so glad I am eight! you can see more pictures of my birthday if you click on the link " Photo album"
